Reeves Design + Square Roots

Next week at the International Furniture Fair Singapore (IFFS), Square Roots will showcase their collaboration with award-winning British designer John Reeves.

Farm Gate

Working with Square Roots, John has created a range around the theme ‘Farm Gate’, to be released at the upcoming IFFS.

“The Farm Gate range is built around the idea of old oak fencing and the hardware which is very vernacular to the farms and fields of England,” said John.

“If you look at any farm, you’ll find homemade hinges, chunky clasps – things your Dad might have made you as a kid,” he continued. “These details are indelibly linked to the Farm Gate range – not overly thought-out, but beautifully done.”

Farm Gate also reflects a continuation of Square Roots passion for using solid materials in their furniture.

“Justin and Ed make beautiful furniture,” said John. “They’re passionate about wood, and never shy away from the truth of their materials. I admire them. They continue to make something so difficult appear so simple.”
